No matter how many times I have this thought, it continually amazes me: God WANTS to work for me!! He wants to do the heavy lifting for all the tasks and activities of my business and ministry, because they lead to the fulfillment of the dreams and vision He’s put in my heart. In fact, He desires this even more than I do! This is the “almost too good to be true news” of the Gospel.
When I get this revelation deep in my heart, I can relate to what David said: “This is knowledge too wonderful for me” (Psalm 139:6). Over and over again, I need to be reminded of this truth; and somehow it is always just as amazing to me as the countless times I’ve heard it before.
God loves to bless me with His goodness, so that He can make me a witness and His message to the world. He is only and always good! His desire is to make my yoke easy, and my burden light (Matthew 11:30).
He knows our human struggles and infirmities. The first part of Hebrews 4:15 (AMP) says this: “For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are…” He became one of us, so that we’d know that He knows what it’s like. He did this so that He could relate to us, and also that we could relate to Him. He’s walked a mile in our shoes (and then some!).
The last part of Hebrews 4:15 shows that the only difference between us and Jesus is that He didn’t sin. Therefore He conquered sin; on our behalf. The Bible doesn’t share that with us to “keep us in our place”, and remind us of how much better Jesus is than us; but rather to give us bold confidence that we’ll find His grace to help us when we need it most (Hebrews 4:16).
By receiving this grace, “our cups runneth over” continually, and we are like the wise bridesmaids who keep our lamps full of oil (Matthew 25). God is constantly scanning the horizon, just waiting for the chance to demonstrate His strong support and blessing for people who will trust and depend on Him (2 Chronicles 16:9).
How often I’ve missed opportunities to let God do this for me! Yet lately I’m seeing it all the more, as I rest in His ability to provide all the needs for me, my business, and ministry. As I was journaling today the Holy Spirit spoke this to my heart, and it is just as true for you:
As you truly seek to share the Message I’ve given you, to bless and add value to people, doesn’t it make sense that I’d line things up for you and help you?? Why then would you stress and think that you have to make your voice heard, and force things to happen in your own strength? Of course I will help you, provide for you, and connect you with the right people and opportunities!!
Keep being patient and fill yourself with Me, knowing that I will do this for you. Keep your heart in the right place, and I’ll line up all the practical and logistical requirements for you. Keep relentlessly adding value to people, and I’ll add value to you through them.
When others are being nourished by eating the good fruit from your tree, wouldn’t they be incentivized–even selfishly–to water and cultivate that tree that gives them life? Be so valuable to others that they can’t not tend to your garden.
As I shared last week, through the support of so many people, He just did this with the book fundraiser and launch. These testimonies are some of the greatest “sermons” we could ever preach! Leadership expert John Maxwell has an outstanding sermon on this topic, which I highly encourage you to watch (below).
If my book has nourished you and added value to your life, I’d like to ask you one more favor: Would you please take 1-2 minutes to leave a review of my book on Amazon? You can do so by clicking on this link: http://getbook.at/ABetterWay. (Click here for how to write an Amazon review, or feel free to ask me directly at or 619-770-0251).
Online book stores are more likely to promote a book when they feel good about its content, and reader reviews are a great barometer for a book’s quality.
This will help to get the Gospel to even more people. Thank you all again so much for being part of this testimony, touching hearts and minds with God's goodness!
