As I shared in last week’s blog post, the Divine Mandate for my life and A Better Way is “to manifest the goodness of God”. One of my guiding principles is to live and be the message of A Better Way, first and foremost in my own heart and life. This is why I place so much emphasis and value on personal testimonies. As I also said last week, the Holy Spirit showed me that we owe people our testimonies of God’s goodness. And in that regard, this week is certainly no exception!
Most of you probably know that two days ago I launched my book called A Better Way: God’s Design for Less Stress, More Rest, and Greater Success (which you can check out here: http://getbook.at/
Thanks to your support and God’s grace, we achieved Amazon “#1 Bestseller” rankings in 9 out of the 10 total categories for the Kindle version!! This is very exciting, and certainly worthy of celebration, mainly because of the credibility and visibility it brings to the book. But I’ll be honest: “bestseller status” isn’t all that important to me. Ultimately, it is a means to an end: to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel, and show how truly good God is.
On that note, I want to share another praise-worthy update: the book fundraiser has now officially covered all the publisher’s fees! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all the support God provided through so many people. God made good on His promise to me, which was that since this book and this ministry is His vision, He would amply supply the provision it required.
When I first started writing the book last March, I struggled with how to structure and organize the content. The Holy Spirit made it simple for me by telling me to just write my story. He said, “You tell it; I’ll sell it”. This has proven to be true, for both the fundraiser, as well as the book sales. I’m so grateful for the practical support and provision God has given for this book launch through you, His Church.
Beyond that, though, I’m so thankful for the witness and testimony this serves as.
After all, my own life and ministry should demonstrate the benefits of the truths and principles I so passionately proclaim. Anything less would be a lack of integrity and a suboptimal witness by peddling unlived truth. Never trust a chef that doesn’t eat his own cooking! I’m eating it, and I say “taste and see that the Lord is good”! (Psalm 34:8).
My hope and prayer is that this testimony encourages you and makes you more sure in God’s faithfulness for your own life, ministry, and/or business. Acts 10:34 tells us that God is no respecter of persons, meaning that He shows no favoritism or partiality and treats everyone on the same basis. Therefore, what God did for me, He can and will do for you as well. Someone else’s testimony is just a “down payment” on what is available for you, too!
In 2 Corinthians 3:2-3, the Apostle Paul refers to his flock as “living epistles”, or living letters, which can be recognized and read by everybody. I’ve heard a quote that our lives should be “walking advertisements” of God’s goodness and the Gospel, which amplifies or supplements the words people may or may not ever read in scripture.
To paraphrase a portion of something I say in Chapter 22 of the book: As God’s children, it stands to reason that we are the most effective witnesses and ambassadors to the world of His goodness by being blessed. When Jesus is at the center of our lives, these blessings will inevitably point to Him. We are called to be both messengers and demonstrators of the Good News Gospel.
People can argue with our theology or philosophy, but they can’t argue with our life stories or testimonies. Our lives and testimonies may well be the only “Bible” some people would otherwise ever read. Let’s make them worthy representations of just how good Jesus is!
And once again, thank you so much for being part of this testimony in doing just that. God is GOOD!!
